As Kehinde Andrews said in their book, “The New Age of Empire – How Racism and Colonialism Still Rule the World” – the West cannot be the solution because it is the cause.

By combining ancient wisdom with an objective view at our current way of life, we have the best chance to not just survive – but actually feel and fully experience the beauty and wonder of this life. We’ll have the best chance to have the impact that we want to create – without killing ourselves in the process.

What you can expect from the Flow State App

15-Minute Virtual Yoga Classes

Each 15-minute yoga class is accessible for all – and yes, we mean for all! Each class is taught from both a chair and the floor, so no matter where you’re at and what you need, we’ll have you covered. The classes are designed to be a quick part of your day, either as part of your morning or evening routines, or as a fast reset during the day. All classes are trauma informed and taught in accordance with all 8 limbs of Patanjali’s yoga.

30-Minute Virtual Qigong Classes

Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, qigong is a form of moving meditation – a way to learn how to move your body with less tension, greater ease, and to build energy and relaxation.

When we practice Qigong, we learn how to move and control the energy within our body to build relaxation, resilience, flow, and harmony within and with those around us – a balance between our mind and body.

Guided Meditation Library

With meditations ranging from 60-seconds to 30 minutes, you’ll find something that will work for you in our growing guided meditation library. Never meditated before? You’re good! There’s a quick Meditation 101 program where you can learn how to meditate in a way that aligns with you in just 5-minutes per day.

Pranayama Breathwork

Pranayama is one of the 8 limbs of yoga as described by Patanjali, and it is an incredibly powerful tool to either:

  • Lower stress and regain control over your nervous system to relax
  • Activate energy to restore and recharge

Take these exercises with you on the go with the recorded audio versions, or follow the breathing guide on the videos.

Journal Prompts Library

To help support your Svadhyaya practice (self discovery), the Flow State has a library of journal prompts, discover more about yourself, shine a light on what may be holding you back from taking your next big step, and help you understand yourself on a much deeper level.

Each prompt includes additional guidance to help you use the prompt to it’s fullest.

Now you may be thinking, this all sounds great but how am I supposed to find the time for all of this?

Every single one of the resources in the Flow State App has been optimized to give you the most return for your investment in time. It’s why the yoga classes are 15 minutes, the meditations start at 60 seconds long, and the breathwork classes are the shortest possible for you to get the most benefit (about 3 minutes). 

Also, your burnout recovery program is portable! With the Flow State App, all of your burnout recovery resources are at your fingertips from your phone using the app, or from a web browser.

Okay, but I'm really good at talking myself out of things. How do I stick with it?

The yoga and qigong classes are offered live throughout the day, so you can either join us live – OR sign up for an accountability time to commit to your burnout recovery plan. The accountability sessions happen a few times per day and are spread out throughout all time zones.

You register for these times just like you would a live class. Then, when your accountability session is starting, join the Zoom call and let the moderator know what you’re going to be doing for that time.

Then you can:

  • have a nap
  • read
  • use a recorded class
  • commit to some focused work
  • plan
  • move
  • journal
  • work on the Recover Program
  • or anything you want!

The moderator will help answer questions and will hold you accountable to the classes that you register for and will follow up by email if they didn’t see you sign onto the meeting.

Hi, I'm Avery

I started my career as a Registered Nurse working in many different Intensive Care Units (ICU’s) across Canada since 2012 and I noticed very early on in my career that the majority of the reasons why adults found themselves in the ICU were because of illnesses and diseases that could be linked to chronic stress.

I decided to get out of the reactive side of medicine and started my business in 2015 helping other highly sensitive high achievers manage their stress. Then, at the end of 2018, despite all the stress management strategies that the research said I should be doing, I experienced a significant burnout that left me unable to work any ‘normal’ job. After a long 18 months, I received a diagnosis that left me with a chronic illness and disability.

I was frustrated that all the strategies the research proved didn’t work. I felt let down by a system that was supposed to help you find the answers.

This led me to realize one very important thing...

…that I had to search for answers beyond that which supports a system that leads to so much burnout in the first place.

I started reading articles and books that critiqued the research that I so heavily relied on – and what I found was shocking but also freeing and enlightening at the same time. It’s this learning that I bring to the Flow State App – merging ancient wisdom with an objective view of modern science.

  • seniors, etc.

We acknowledge the lasting damage of capitalism and colonialism has had and continues to have on these communities, and want to help keep wealth in these communities. It’s also why we donate 10% of all monthly revenue to organizations that support these communities.

No. Every price tier offers the same amount of access within the Flow State App. We offer a sliding scale payment structure to allow for marginalized communities to have safe access, and those who have the means to help support the community as a whole. Our teachers and contributors will not know which tier you’ve joined at and will treat everyone the same.

It is our policy to create a fully accessible and safe space for all to heal together. As someone with a disability and a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I, Avery, have some lived experience in a marginalized group, however I am aware of much of what being a white woman offers me that other groups do not receive.

Although myself and the rest of the team here at the Flow State App continue to do the work to learn about our different layers of privilege and the impact of White Supremacy on our actions, systems and intentions, we understand that we aren’t perfect and may still make a mistake.

We do our best to create as safe a space as possible for everyone, but understand that we don’t know what we don’t know. Differing view points, blunt feedback and discussions around content and interactions that contain microaggressions, racism, ableism, or discrimination of any kind are welcomed. If this requires a significant time investment on behalf of the person bringing this to our attention, compensation will be discussed. 

Feedback around these issues can either be provided directly, or anonymously through the app.

You can cancel at any time either yourself through the app, or by filling out our contact form at least three business days before your account renews. There’s no commitment to any number of months, however if we do change our pricing structure after you cancel you will not be able to rejoin at your previous rate.

Due to the digital nature of this product, refunds are not available. However, we are completely open to feedback and ideas so if something about your membership isn’t working for you, or you need something to make it more accessible to you – then please feel free to let us know and we’ll take it into consideration!
